In a continual effort to revitalize the many broad components that make up our city, REV Birmingham is keeping an impressive momentum. This spring, the well received private-public partnership launched its newest initiative, LIV Birmingham, a city living program.
With a mission to become the most trusted resource for Birmingham City living, LIV Birmingham will be especially useful for those looking to relocate to the Magic City, says Laura Kate Whitney, who’s played a key role in helping to create the new non-profit. “We want to promote the City of Birmingham as a viable residential destination. LIV Birmingham will be a platform for our city’s historic neighborhoods as well as downtown.”
With a well crafted mission to spotlight a variety of unique features that help define our communities, LIV Birmingham serves as a much needed resource to help achieve objectives in Blueprint Birmingham as well as the Comprehensive Plan-which both highlight the many benefits of creating a city-living campaign.
This past May, LIV Birmingham kicked off it’s first public event, “Cool Spaces, Downtown Places,” offering guests the chance to get to know some of Downtown Birmingham’s coolest liv+work+play spaces.
John’s City Diner served as the hub/check-in. Guests were able to enjoy a fun ride with Birmingham Pedicab Company who had peddlers available to transport people to and from the event.
“We want to let the world know how great of a city Birmingham is to live, work, and play,” says Whitney. “Our communities are really the gem of Birmingham, and who better to tell the story of the Magic City than the residents themselves?”
