Toyota Green Initiative Continues Sustainability Outreach Efforts at HBCU Campuses

The Toyota Green Initiative has continued to make a positive impact with its outreach efforts to college aged students around the country. Forming the initiative is a small but powerful group of well known green industry professionals and sustainability supporters. The group travels around the country making stops at the campuses of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) helping to educate college students about the importance of improving environmental and sustainability efforts.

Since its visit to the Birmingham area last October, the Toyota Green Initiative has traveled to many other locations around the country, including its most recent stop at the CIAA (Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association) Tournament in Charlotte, NC.  This event featured a diverse roster of engaging activities to help consumers learn how to live green, and save green. From the insightful #ToyotaGreen Forum moderated by MTV’s Sway Calloway, to green “Do-It-Yourself” workshops led by Lance Gross, Tatyana Ali and sustainability “sisters” Earthseed, the TGI Experience was one of the most buzzed about activations during CIAA 2014.

Now in its fifth-year of bringing its message of sustainability to HBCUs, Toyota created an interactive platform for CIAA fans to experience the Toyota Green Initiative (TGI). Some of the 2014 CIAA Toyota Green Initiative highlights include:
