My Green Birmingham celebrated its 2nd annual Champions of Sustainability event on Wednesday, October 1st, at The Westin Birmingham. Champions of Sustainability honors the diverse efforts of those who create positive change in our community.
Our Champions of Sustainability honorees include local entrepreneurs, leaders, and true visionaries, all of whom understand that collective solutions are the best way to transform and enrich our community’s livability.
“We love this city. We want to see this city be at the top of all the cities in the country in terms of our efforts,” said special guest speaker, Mayor William Bell. “We are working to create something positive that will leave a lasting legacy for generations to come.”
The evening began with a networking hour, followed by a film screening introducing this year’s Champions of Sustainability honorees. Guest moderator Laura Kate Whitney, co-founder of Dogtrot Studio and well-known “localist,” led the panel discussion with our Champions of Sustainability, who also took questions from guests in attendance.
