Freshen up your indoor air and enjoy a little green inside your home this winter
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency currently ranks indoor air pollution near the top of a handful of constant threats to human health. In fact, indoor air can typically be two to five times more polluted than the air outside.
One of the easiest solutions to this problem is to bring several purifying plants into your home. Some of the most effective purifying plants are even capable of reducing levels of formaldehyde in the home, which is a chemical often used to hold together a variety of building products and household furniture.
Purifying plants can also reduce a wide variety of allergens, carbon dioxide, and many other airborne chemicals and VOCs such as those that are often found in household cleaners and paint. The following plants are well-known for their abilities to greatly purify a home’s indoor air.
1. Boston Fern
2. Palm trees
3. Bamboo palm
4. English Ivy
5. Peace lily
6. Golden Pothos
