Birmingham Botanical Gardens will host the eleventh annual Antiques at The Gardens October 6 – 9, 2016. Once again, Birmingham’s premiere antiques show welcomes renowned tastemakers and dealers from across the country. Interior designers and landscape designers will curate themed areas with goods selected from Birmingham and other regions of the country. The show also includes dealers presenting antiques, furniture, porcelain, fine art, silver, garden accessories and jewelry.
This year’s honorees are Frances and Miller Gorrie. The Red Diamond Lecture Series featuring Jeffrey Bilhuber returns. Taste in Spades, presented by Life Insurance Company of Alabama, returns with four events, including a Design Panel/Panel Discussion. Also back for its second year is Friday’s After Hours at The Gardens presented by McCorquodale Transfer. The full schedule for the weekend’s activities is below.
Antiques at The Gardens Schedule
9:30-11:30 – Tastebuds presented by flower magazine featuring Suzanne Pollack, author and founder of Charleston Academy of Domestic Pursuits. $25. Lunch provided by The Pantry. Limited to 40 people under 40-years-old.
7-11 p.m. – Gala in The Gardens presented by Stifel, 19/19 Investment Counsel and BNY Mellon/Pershing Advisor Solutions. Tickets: $175* per person. Black-tie Preview of the Show, Cocktails, Hors d’oeuvres, Music by To The 9’s and Show Readmission.
10-7 p.m. – Public show is open. $15.
11 a.m. – Red Diamond Lecture Series featuring interior designer Jeffrey Bilhuber. $40. (Book signing to follow at noon.)
1 p.m. – Red Diamond Lecture Series featuring floral designer Michael Grim. $30.
3 p.m. – Floral workshop with Michael Grim. $150. Limited to 20 people.
5-7 p.m. – After Hours at The Gardens presented by McCorquodale Transfer and StyleBlueprint. Included in General Admission ticket price.
10-5 p.m. – Public Show is open. $15.
9-noon – Intro to Calligraphy by Holly Hollon. $125. Limited to 20 people.
10 a.m. – Taste in Spades: Shop the Show with Eddie Ross. $75. Limited to 15 people, price includes a copy of the book.
Noon – Taste in Spades presents: Design Panel/Panel Discussion featuring Gen & Ben Sohr, Eddie Ross & Mark Sikes. Moderated by Karen Carroll of flower magazine. $35. Price includes lunch and show admission.
2 p.m. – Taste in Spades: Presentation by Gen and Ben Sohr of Pencil and Paper Co. “Creating a Family Friendly Home with Personality.” Included in General Admission ticket price.
3 p.m. – Taste in Spades: Presentation by Eddie Ross. Included in General Admission ticket price.
11-4 p.m. – Public show is open. $15.
